I wrote a post that I called Becoming What You Hate. I have been thinking about it quite a bit. I know what I hate, and it’s just natural to become it. I wonder if it’s because I think about … Continue reading
What Calms You? Do you even need to be calm? Some of us live such fast-paced lives that we don’t even know that we need to be calm. That place where you are calm is a great place for shaping … Continue reading
You’ve heard about the very simplistic idea of how people can be either left brained or right brained. The lateralization of brain function is an interesting study. I don’t claim to be a neuroscientist at all. I am fascinated by … Continue reading
Tonight is the first night where I don’t feel tired – like jetlag tired. Of course, I didn’t know that I was tired. It actually feels normal today. I think I’ve been too tired to process my trip to Israel. … Continue reading
Are you a visual processor? I am. I have all of these mind maps with boxes and lines and arrows all over them. That’s how I process. Some people can create a linear outline – one step, then another step. My processing is all over the place. I typically create a mind map for ideas that I am processing.
If you’re the same, you have to check out prezi.com. Create an account – use your .edu for more storage space and added features. Create mind maps and presentations online using this cool tool.
It’s great for presentations as well.
I’m starting to think in terms of a Twitter Ticker Tape. You know what I mean? I am a pretty visual processor so I picture the actual “tweets” in my mind as I start processing through an idea or presentation. It is a very asynchronous method of visual or mental processing, but as you start staring at a twitter stream long enough – you or in this case, I start thinking in terms of the Twitter Ticker Tape.
Have I always thought that way or do I now think that way because I have seen a Twitter Ticker Tape in action?
Check out all my other rants on the Twitter Ticker Tape.
Blogging is a great place to try stuff out – especially for a verbal processor like me. I mean, I’m not actually saying it out loud, but I’m processing these ideas. It helps me. It’s a seemingly safe place to try out stuff and get ideas out.
The thing is, I really have no idea who reads this stuff. Most times, I just write stuff for me – things that I’m thinking or pondering. It has become a matter of public domain, and as such, it becomes a matter of public opinion. It’s alright though. If someone’s out to get you – they’re out to get you. There is always a chance of someone reading into the idea or reading whatever they want out of your idea, and since it’s written out, they can pretty much attack it. That’s alright though. That says more about them than it does me.
I was thinking about this today though. Sometimes I’m working out ideas. I know as readers you can’t tell – always. I may not even believe the ideas at all, but this becomes part of me working them out.
Whether you’re hear to join the journey or thwart it – Welcome!!!! Thanks for coming along – in either case. Too bad you can’t see the heart.
Are you blogging? How do you work out your ideas?
