Today was a great day. We woke up in Raleigh, NC. Stayed with a friend from college. Drove up to Richmond, VA to have lunch with a friend from high school. Continued driving up to Baltimore, MD, and we are staying with a friend from graduate school. I was able to visit and have a meal today with friends from high school, college, and grad school.
I have alot of great friends. I am blessed to have people that care about – I was going to say – I am blessed to have people in my life that STILL care about me. I have great friends where I live, and I have great friends around me. It’s great though to have people that don’t live around me that care for me. I mean, I posted an update about being out this way and people that I won’t be able to visit are letting me know that they’re close or that I should have planned to visit them – and I will next time. There will be a next time. In fact, tonight we were talking about what we were going to do the next time we’re up in Baltimore. We even talked about a trip to the Cayman Islands. Can’t wait to go on that one.
Back to the main point. I have people around me now. I don’t know how long I’ll be around them or how long they will be around me. I do cherish them, and I’m blessed to have them in my life. I do have people that have been in my life as well. I am blessed. Today was filled with stories of what we had done or what we used to do. Today I was reminded of things that have shaped my identity and my thoughts. Today I went down memory lane with friends from long time ago. Today I created new memories and new experiences with them. They will always be the people that I went to school with, but it’s great to still have them in my life. Although we cannot go back to – way back when – it’s great to be with them now. In many ways, I am who I am today because of them. So – how about the people that you went to school with?
