I just posted about Beautiful Love, and now I am going to post about Mass Cass. I just received an e mail from my brother who is in Afghanistan. They had a Mass Cass (Casualty) last week. For those that don’t know – I’ve been keeping another blog to update family and friends on my emails from him. You can find it here. You might also find this post on there. This is what he says about it:
“We had a MASS CASS (casualty) the other week. Not good. Talk about mass panic. We had injured civilians, women and several kids this time. Talk about not a pretty site. I really don’t understand what would drive these people to hurt there own. I mean I understand fighting with us and the British. We are at war I understand. But to hurt people that were just minding their own business.”
He says that it has been the hardest 4 months, and he has 2 more to go. Normally, he writes about how much he wants to go outside of the wire and return the favor – he did mention it in the last e mail, but the main focus was on being at the hospital – take care of people. He doesn’t want to see another surgery again in his life. They are taking care of kids and children – they’re suppose to be taking care of soldiers – who in many ways are still kids – 18 and 19 years old. They are fighting the war on terror and sacrificing their lives for you and me. They are doing their job. He is so proud and so happy to be there. In the same email, he wanted to sign up for another deployment and never see war again. The news cannot describe the emotion and the pain of the stuff that my brother was describing to me – I don’t think I would want to post any of it on here.
Pray for our soldiers. Pray for the war that we’re fighting – as we sit in our air conditioned and comfortable homes. Our men are dying there and innocent people are losing their lives. We are blessed to have guys like my brother out there taking care of us and specifically those that are being hurt and losing their lives. I cannot wait to hug him and see him. I know that I will get to see him – there are many that will not get to see their sons and daughters.
If you’ve read this far – you got the time to send up a prayer for our soldiers that are doing their job for you and me. Just take a quick moment to lift them up in prayer.
