I have not shared any of my leadership lessons (the ones that I’m learning) in awhile.  I’ve actually been wanting to write this one though.

I was thinking about how I would teach my students how to develop a Personal Leadership Development Plan.  Here’s what I came up with.

1. Make a list of all of the things that you absolutely can’t stand about leaders – especially the ones you follow.

2. Make sure you list as many as you can think of.

3. Make sure you don’t do any of those things.

It’s normal for us to criticize in others – the worse things about ourselves.
