After CNN Has Left

I read that in a blog post this morning.  Check it out here.  It’s from Gareth Evans, a friend of mind that does relief work.  He had posted about Haiti and their work there.  I’m so blown away by what they do.  Yes, it’s their job, but they have chosen it.

He writes that they will continue to be in Haiti long after CNN has left.  I know that it’s CNN’s job to report it, and don’t get me wrong, I watch CNN from time to time.   It just made me think about all that is going on in our world.  Too bad the news doesn’t just report it.

    Thanks Lem!

As an update, World Relief has been feeding over 15,000 people two meals a day, and has secured 68 tons of food to serve over 110,000 meals.

We are in the process of procuring and distributing over 5,000 temporary shelters in preparation for the rain and hurricane season.

The King’s Hospital has three operating rooms up and running and has room for 300 people. We’ve established links with the Comfort to send cases directly to the ship.

Amongst all that, we are still working in Eastern DR Congo, Darfur, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda and other countries that are in or recovering from crisis.

Thank you for your support, looking forward to seeing you soon.

    G
