Afraid to be Wrong

Ken Robinson says – we are raising kids that are afraid to be wrong. We have stigmatized mistakes. We want everyone to be perfect – well, at least our version of perfect. He goes on to say that you will never come up with anything original if you are not afraid to be wrong. If you want to watch the video, check out Ken Robinson on TED.com.

I guess I love the idea of coming up with Original things. I don’t think we are all called to that, but there is tremendous freedom when we can create space and not be afraid to be wrong. I guess I also have to be prepared for lots of wrong decisions, but so long as it leads to making better right decisions.

What do you think? Are you afraid to be wrong?
