My Unco Wem Identity

Published by

I was reminiscing with a great friend – Scott Reitz – about when we lived in Minnesota together.  That was over 5 years ago.  We were talking about shoveling snow and the wonderful memories cues of Minnesota.

One of my favorite memories is that of his son Isaac  riding whatever he could down the street.  Whether he was in a car, on his trike, on the bike with his dad – he’d always be so stoked to see Unco Wem.  I love it.  Unco Wem – that’d be one of my identities.  This is my identity to a few people –

my practice baby Madison,

my sister’s boys Jayson  and Jordan

my niece Hazel,

Parker and Anderson – my chinese nephews

I love this identity.  It’s one that I play well.  It’s an honor and a privilege to get to be Unco Wem to so many people.
