Where is Home?

Published by

Is home where you heart is? Is home where you hang your hat? Is home where you mommy and daddy live? Is home where you live? I know of a few people that do not know where home is. I know others that are just starting to find their home. I talked to a friend today that’s found home and will be there in a few weeks.
I realize that if you don’t know where your home is, it is hard for you to move forward. It’s hard to grow when you are looking for home. It’s hard to get stuff done when you’re looking for home. It’s hard to get more done when you are looking for home. It’s hard to have a dream when you’re looking for home? There’s no passion when there’s no home.
Are you growing? Learning? Doing more? Passionate? Dreaming? Have you found home? Can I help you find home?

Great questions Lem! Having grown up moving around at very formative times in my life, I don’t have any one place I call home. For now, it’s where I’m living. When I go back to America, it feels more like I’m a visitor than someone that calls it home.
What I’ve come up with over the years, at least for our situation, is that home is wherever God has placed us. I know that’s an oversimplified answer but I truly want to be at the place in my life where I can be content in any situation, in any place and call that home because that’s where I’m supposed to be.

It’s not an oversimplified answer. When you’re asking a ton of questions and you aren’t feeling at home anywhere, it’s hard to get things going. You are right – home is where you are – so now that you’re home, you can get going.
To tell you the truth, you nailed it with the contentment comment. I’m not saying that it’s about doing more – who cares about doing more. I think I want to be able to just do life without worrying about home. I have a home. I have many places that I call home.
You’re at home man. I want to visit your home sometime.
