Have you ever heard of Malcolm Gladwell? You might have read one of his books. He is a brilliant story teller and a pretty good journalist/writer. I recently listened to one of his talks from TED.com – another brilliant site that you need to know about. Check out my profile there.
As I said, I recently listened to one of his talks – check it out here. It’s a talk about spaghetti sauce, but it’s so much more than that. You have to listen to it.
It made me think about the way that we think. It made me to consider what “universals” I hold on to – listen to the talk to get a context for it. I hold on to ideas and thoughts that have been passed off as “universals” or maybe even as commands in Scripture – Ideas that I believe and hold on to, but since I have never been given any other options other than these “universals,” I have blindly believed them. I have not given any thought to them because I have just held on to them as true. I will continue to process through it and I’ll post some of my thoughts on here, but for now – what ideas do you hold on to and believe that you’ve never thought about because you have been taught that they are universal truths that are just true?
