I lived in Minnesota for 3 years. I am in no way a Minnesotan, but Favre as a Viking. I just can’t see it and I’m asking all of my Minnesotan friends what they think about it. They do need quarterback and Favre got out of Training Camp. Actually, I don’t know that for sure. It’s just what I’ve heard, but isn’t it cool that I can still publish my information. If you do know – please set me straight. If you’re reading this blog for Favre information, you’ve come to the wrong place. For that go here.
I will add a little bit of Identity Formation here though. It’s very interesting to me how so many people have such strong opinions about the drama of Favre. (For my perspective on drama, check out this previous post.) It’s so interesting to read what people are writing about him – especially the blogs. Sports talk radio only escalates the drama.
Individuals that are all about the Favre drama are the ones in Identity Moratorium or Identity Diffusion – they would rather deal with the Favre drama. You just need to read some of the stuff people are saying about him. I get that part of it is just the news blowing things out of proportion, but the reason why they have such a perspective is because the Favre drama is easier to deal with rather than their own. Favre is the one that’s Identity Achieved here. It takes a very secure guy, someone that’s okay with who he is to be a Packer for years and then become a Viking for at least 2. It takes a pretty secure and Identity Achieved person to do that. He’s Favre.
