A Variety of Landscapes

I was thinking about how many different landscapes there are on this earth.  I’ve been able to experience  a bunch of them – the beach, the plains, the snow, the mountains, the desert, the city.  There are a variety of landscapes.  God has created them all.  God has designed them all.  All of it is beautiful in its own way.

I was thinking about organizations and their landscapes.  The idea that I had that triggered this landscape theme is the fact that there are so many different kinds of churches.  Tons of them.  Big ones.  Little ones.  Typically, they’re all homogeneous –  it’s possible to find some diverse ones, but not too many of them.  There are a variety of church landscapes – just like there are ton of different landscapes in nature.  It got me thinking – as diverse as the world is – is there room for that many different types of churches.

Why is it that Christian’s can’t stand it?  We as Christians can sometimes be so intolerant.  It’s not like my church so it can’t be good – okay, so they might not say it that way, but that’s what they mean.  If God can make so many different landscapes – God might like that there’s so many different kinds of churches.

What do you think?
