On my flight yesterday, I watched this video of the symbiotic relationships of plants and animals at Yellowstone National Park. Not only was there some breath-taking shots and videos, it was a pretty incredible documentary. I was fascinated by several things. The include:
– A bird that would get pine nuts from the tree – 30,000 of them, and then bury them for the winter. The bird would be able to remember where 21,000 of them would be and would live off of them during the winter. The other 9,000 that this one bird would forget would produce more pine trees. They can do this within an area of 100 square miles and they would have food and the pine tree would have spread it’s seed.
– The beaver is an amazing animal. I can bite through a tree – build a dam – there’s just way too many amazing things that this animal can do.
– The Elk is such an incredible animal. They will go for weeks gathering a harem and he’ll take care of them all winter long. He would have offspring by the Spring.
– The scenery was magnificent, and the colors spectacular. I was in awe of all that I watched.
The thing that I was most impressed with was that God had created it all. He made the little pouch in the mouth of this bird so that they can carry 10 pine nuts at one time. All of the little things that we don’t even see or even know about – God created. He’s so amazing.
