Give Yourself Grace

Do you know how to give yourself grace?  Do you know what grace looks like; feels like; does to you?

I was with a dear friend last night, and she had said something about the ability to give herself more grace – that she was in a situation where she was able to give herself grace.

I thought to myself – am I able to do that?  Do I know what that means?  Am I able to give myself grace?  Or do I live in the unrealistic expectations that I’ve set up for myself?  I found it fascinating to think through such a concept..  Am I really able to give myself grace?  Do I have a supply of it to do that?  Or is by nature – grace something that is undeserved and really something that you can’t really have supply of.  True grace can’t be stored.  Think about that – stored grace.  That’s not any good.

Grace works when it’s given.  Grace works when it is a dynamic thing – static grace does nothing.

I’m not quite sure if I know how to give myself grace.  I am not sure if I am able to do that, but in trying to figure it out, I will give myself grace.

In trying to figure “it all” out, may we give ourselves grace….each moment…and be patient with ourselves, and allow ourselves time to find our footing, even as we edge our way among our stumblings and stubbed toes~ Beautiful messes, as we are~

    As. We. Are.

I really liked the idea/phrase. I’m definitely not that great at giving myself grace. It was such an incredible idea that made a lot of sense when you said it-so thank you for that.
