At least that’s the way that they planned this conference that I’m at. It’s a conference of educators – people who work in education.
An educational principle that I learned in college was: the mind can only handle what the butt can take. Okay, so maybe I rephrased it, but the principle is there. It’s based off of the principle that your attention span is one minute for every year that you have been alive. My attention span is 36 minutes. If you’re not changing pedagogical methods within that time frame – you’ve lost me. And changing speakers doesn’t count. 2-3 hour sessions at a time for information dump is just not that fun – much less educational.
I’m just saying.
