I follow Derek Sivers on his blog.  He did a presentation at TED on leadership.  It’s pretty cool.

A leader needs to the guts to stand alone and look ridiculous.  Then the first follower comes.  It takes guts to be the first follower.  The first follower turns the lone nut into a leader.  You can watch the rest.
