I went to a conference today.  There was someone from Apple that spoke at it.  He said that the App Store in iTunes has only been in existence for 18 months.  They’ve sold over 3 billion apps on the App Store – they’ve made billions of dollars on it.  He was right that the app store has only been open for a year and a half, but he did not acknowledge that apps have been in existence way before the App Store opened.  It was possible to jailbreak your ipod and install apps – created for that platform.  Apple created the App Store to capitalize on it.

Whatever any of these companies make – whatever the ideas they have for it – the street innovation of that product will always exceed it’s intended purpose.  People will find a way – to hack it.
