Okay, so maybe you miss out on the human element.  You don’t get to talk or touch the people that are there.  There is tons of value in the hallway conversations at any conference – the coffee breaks – the meals in between sessions.

It’s amazing though how following the hash tags of a conference gives you a sense of being there.  Not only do you get the salient points of anyone’s talk, you also get the bad attitudes and immediate comments of the conferees that are listening to the talk.

Go on.  Go be inspired by some of the best minds in their field.
