When You “Like” Something on Facebook

it says something about you, but it’s much more about telling other people something.  In many ways, it’s an identity projection.  It is you saying that you want this to represent a part of you.  It says that you identify with this.

In another ways, it is you identifying with this group of people that are also identifying with this thing.  You are identifying with many more people than you realize.  “Liking” something is identifying with other people that happen to “like” that same thing.  It’s identifying yourself around what you all “like.”

I “like” that.

    Very true.
Plus, it caters to our “fast-food” tendencies in that we don’t even have to type anything out to let them know we identify! 🙂
