Minimum Effective Dose

MED simply defined as the smallest dose that will produce desired outcome.  I got this from Tim Ferriss’ new book the 4 Hour Body.  He’s pretty much a master at this when it comes to linguistics, business or your body.

He uses the example of boiling water at 212 F.  At that temperature, water will boil.  Hotter temps will also boil water, but it would be wasted resources.  It’s just a smarter and wiser use of your resources.  It works for work, school, and every area of your life.

We love excess though.  We love cars that are too fast, tires that are too big, and plates of food for more than one person.  Bigger and faster is better, but not according to the MED.
