Years ago – my good friend Scott Reitz gave away the “Smell Like Jesus Award.”  The tagline was – “You got the towel.  Now here’s the soap.”  Hahahaha.  We both taught at a previous institution where the administration would give away towels representing servant leadership and Jesus washing his disciples feet.  Each graduate got a towel and Scott would give a bar of expensive soap.  It was the best award.

It unofficially blessed a student in an extraordinary way, and Scott also then recognized his students personally.  A teacher that goes the extra mile like that – smells like Jesus himself.  You should be friends with my good friend Scott Reitz.  You can find him here.  Tell him I sent you.
