Emotionally Frozen

I read a lot.  I love reading and learning.  I have been doing a lot of writing lately – mostly dissertation and research writing.

Today, I was reading something and came across this phrase, “emotionally frozen.”  I can’t even explain it to you, but it just jumped off the page into my mind.  The story that I was reading had to do with some traumatic experiences which left someone “emotionally frozen.”

I think it happens to people.  I think it happens to more often than not.  I think that emotionally frozen is that chasm in the process of identity formation – that prevents you from moving forward in the identity formation process.

It’s natural.  It’s normal.  Sometimes people don’t ever transition out of it.
