It really doesn’t take long in any FIFA related conversation to see and hear one’s national sense of identity come through.  One of the sushi chef’s at last night’s dinner is cheering for his country – Mexico and to him there is no question that they will win.  One of our students from Africa is cheering for all the African countries and he definitely knows how they will do.  All over Twitter and Facebook – people were talking about how the US got robbed on a call.

It is amazing how competition brings out our national identity out into the conversation and interaction.  So where are the filipinos?  Come on Philippines – but then again, we got Pacquiao.
