If you have a great idea today that you want to research and study, by the time your idea is published, it’ll be at least a year before the world will know it.  Then with a one year embargo – that the journals have instituted – it’s 2 years before the web will see it.

In the much quicker world of the InterWebs – where I can get my ideas, images, and videos up in a second – science will slowly fade away.  Science needs to speed it up.  Or Science (okay, research) will die.
