The Japanese have a word for this space in between things or objects.  It is an experience of the space in between.  The word is Ma.  It is an awareness of what happens in between thoughts and breaths.  It is a sense of presence that doesn’t have an english word for it.  It is an awareness of all the other stuff that we don’t normally pay attention to – at least, that’s how I understand the word.

I like the idea though.  Presence – awareness – of all the things that I don’t normally notice.  There’s beauty in it.
