Family Crest

I was thinking about a time gone by where your identity was so much easier.  I was thinking of the time when there was a Family Crest that you identified with.  They might have had a motto.  There was definitely that sense of lineage and your father’s name.  There was a strong sense of belonging to a clan or tribe – where a last name was a badge of honor and not just a name.  It was more than a name.  It was history and legacy.  There was pride and stories that went along with the name.   It was all sealed by a Family Crest.

Identities used to be much easier when there were clear markers and boundaries and deep stories to pull from.
