……you don’t have the whole story.
Inherent in “story” is the idea that you only have a piece of it. Really, you only have one’s perspective of it. They couldn’t have told you all of the details. When someone tells you a story, you get in a few minutes what happened over a few hours or even a few months. A story only gives you a little piece.
The more pieces you have of the story, the better your perspective on it. The more perspectives you have of the story, the closer you can come to the truth – if that even matters to you.
I’m not saying that a story is not truth. All I’m saying is that getting more of it will help you determine more of the truth.
