The Song We Sing Shape Us

My friend Justin had posted on Facebook this YouTube video of a song that I sang growing up.

Here’s the video that he posted:

He states on his stutus update that we tend to pass on our prejudices through the songs that we teach our children. We sang this song in church – well, we adjusted the lyrics because as a filipino, we didn’t hear “brown” in the song, and seeing as most of the world is, we added it to the lyrics. Red, brown, yellow, black, and white – is what we sang.

Still, this is the theology that we taught. What do you think?
