For those of you that are trying to figure out your identity, one of the best ways to do so is by knowing your story. You would be surprised by how many people have forgotten their story.
I have assigned a Life Map project for some of my classes that I teach. It’s a great exercise in figuring out your identity. I have had 18 year olds do it and students twice that work on this assignment. I have done this assignment many times, and the more that you know your story, the more you figure out your identity.
It’s not a easy project. It takes time. It takes time because we have forgotten more things about your story than we might want to remember. The older you get, the harder it is to remember.
Do you know your story? If you do, tell it. Tell you story and you’ll figure out your identity. It might be difficult to find someone that might want to hear it, but practice. Eventually, you’ll find someone that wants to hear your story. If you cannot find someone and you just want to tell you story, let me know. I want to hear your story. I also want to record it so that others can hear it as well. Let me know if you’re interested in telling your story. If you don’t know your story well enough to tell it, that’s okay too. We can figure it out together.
