I was walking back to my car from lunch today, and I happened to see this on the ground.  My thought was – underneath all of this asphalt is a beautiful brick road.  I pictured what this area would look like with an all brick road, and it would be beautiful.  It made me think of all the wonderful things underneath that people don’t see that are beautiful.  We might not even see, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s beautiful.

This week I have been thinking about this idea that there is an Inner Expanse, and it represents all of this Stuff Underneath.  Some of that stuff is beautiful, but we can’t see it any more because we have covered it all up with something new or different.

I’m sure there was a wonderful reason for covering up a beautiful brick road.  I’m not going to try and figure out why they did it in this town, but I’ll work on it for me.  The Stuff Underneath can be beautiful.
