Not all expressions of identity are good.  Sometimes an expression of identity is identity confusion.  The thing is, the person expressing that identity – doesn’t know that it’s identity confusion (always).

Don’t get me wrong.  The exploration of any expression of identity – even expressions of identity as identity confusion is still beneficial.  Exploration = Beneficial.  Expression = sometimes good, somtimes not.  Exploration = Always good – but within whatever confines your community places on you.  ie. family systems, instituational preferences.

Confusion can lead Identity Achievement – eventually – but you can’t do that for someone.  Only they can do that for themselves.
