Furry Fandom

Have you guys seen the show My Strange Addiction?  The first time I heard about it, I immediately thought that this show was going to be rich with projected identities and identity insights.

One of the shows highlighted Furry Fandom.  It’s when someone comes alive when they hide behind a mask.  This is not just like one person.  There’s a whole movement of people that are freed when they put on the costume and mask.  They say that they were more alive in the mask.  Whether it was a traumatic experience that spurred it on or just your friend asking you to do it, it is an identity projection.

Whether you hide behind a mask or hide a attitude, a projected identity is what people see – even if it might not be you.
