Can you relate?  I saw that line on a picture today.  It was someone’s TwitPic picture.  The thing that caught my attention wasn’t the picture itself – it was the line.  The picture wasn’t risque or anything.  It was just someone’s self-portrait, but the fact that someone acknowledged it caught my attention.

A self-portrait already kinda says that – okay – certain ones say it more than others.  The thing is – all of this social media is pretty good for those that have low self-esteem and need for approval.  And then on top of that – you can get attention and approval from people that you know, but even more amazing is the possibility of getting approval from random strangers.

The Twittersphere and the Blogosphere are great places to bring you self-esteem and need for approval.  Is that why there are so many of us in the space?  You tell me.
