Do you know your Family Lore? I know some of it. I just know the stories that I’ve heard in passing, but I am going to try and record the stories. I want to know where I come from. I want to know my Family Lore. I want to record it.
I will be going to the Philippines, and I will get to spend a few weeks with my parents when we’re there. I am going to sit down with my parents, my aunt, and any other relatives that want to share stories so that I can record the Family Lore. Since they live in the Philippines and since I have no idea how or when I will return, I am going to take this opportunity to record as much of it as I can. It’s a profoundly deep and personal journey. I hope to learn about my family. I hope to learn about myself. I might post pieces of the story here. I can’t wait to share my story with you.
How about you? Do you know your Family Lore? Do you know your story? How has it shaped you? What insights does it give into who you are? Into your identity? If you have any insight into how I might better do this, please let me know.
