Becoming What You Hate

Before you start shooting down this idea with specific details, hear me out.

I heard someone say this – that we all become what we hate. I am sure there are detailed things that you just cannot become. If you hate veggies, you’re not going to become that.

I heard it in the context of stuff that we hated when we were children. Remember hating brushing your teeth, and now you do. I hated to floss and now, I do so religiously. I wish I started earlier though. Some of you hated your parents growing up, and now you’re a parent. That’s the stuff that this line is talking about.

If you think about some of those things, you realize that you can get some amazing insights to your identity.

What did you hate as a kid? Is it who you have become?
