I would never consider myself a writer. I blog. I’ve written a dissertation. I have a few published articles, but I’m not a writer…..well, at least not yet.
This past week, I received several requests for writing projects. They were all different requests for different articles completely independent of each other. I’ve never really thought of myself as a writer, but I am going to start writing. I am not sure that I will want the identity, but I definitely want to do more writing.
Funny enough, I had to read a book to help me realize that I want to write more. I need to learn how to develop stories and create ideas that move people. I’ll let you know when I get the opportunities to publish some things.
Tell me – are you a writer? Do you have “writer identity?” Help me out.
Dear brother … I would challenge you to remember who you are and more importantly WHOSE you are !! The first thin you need to change is the fact that you don’t consider yourself a writer. This is wrong. You have to decide right now if you are called to write, if you are going to write. If that is the case you need to see yourself as a writer. What the heart of man conceives, if the heart believes the life will achieve. The first chapter in the book of James tells us to ask in faith “NOTHING WAVERING” … The Message puts it like this … “If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.” Don’t keep all your options open, decide and move in that directions. None of us who would write here could offer you what you need. The best that any of us could ever hope to do is to point you to Jesus and tell you to fix your eyes on Him and let Him give you the vision to write for His glory. There is no more to say … yes we all can love and encourage you but the foundation is Jesus … 1 Corinthians 3:11 – “Remember, there is only one foundation, the one already laid: Jesus Christ.”
Pick up he pen and WRITE my dear friend, you already ARE a writer !!

You ARE a writer! That’s how I associate your identity with. Thank you for inspiring me and others with your thought-provoking pieces.
