There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Ecc 3:1
I had dinner with a friend from college last night. It was great to catch up and talk about a previous season of life that we had shared. It was great to catch up on all of the seasons of life – the past 20 years of it. Eventually, it leads to the current season of life – at least that’s how my catching up conversations go. There is so much that happens in each season, and we definitely need to live in every single one of those moments.
Even now we are in a season of life. You are where you are – for this season. It might be a few more months. It might be a decade, but even this season will pass on to another season.
Later on in the Ecclesiastes passage that I quoted in the beginning, it says that “God does this so that men will revere Him.” And at the very end, it says that “there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot.” That could mean so many things to so many different people, but that is the key to living this season of life.
