American Identity

There probably isn’t a more obvious and overt celebration of this like there was yesterday.  It was definitely a celebration, but as a nation, I’m not sure we celebrated together.  I guess that’s typical of Americans – celebrating on our owns – but a celebration nonetheless.

If you had to describe how American’s celebrate their independence day – how would you describe it?  Barbecues?  Fireworks?  Food?

When we were watching the fireworks show over at the beach last night – there was a car full of people and as they drove past us – they yelled out “America.”  I guess that counts.

But I would hope that our American identity can be much more than just us screaming it.
